From neighbourhood support to nation-wide organisation for national growth
Sweden Cleantech Incubators (SCTI) was started on the initiative of Region Skåne in 2007 as a 3-year regional project. The organisation was charged with stimulating growth for companies working with environmental technology. The project was awarded funds from the EU Structural Fund for Skåne-Blekinge; additional funding was supplied by Region Skåne and Innovationsbron.
SCTI was managed by the employees of Teknopol AB, a company that has specialised in business development and helping entrepreneurs develop ideas that contain a high level of knowhow and have excellent commercial potential; the objective is to support the growth of successful companies.
It was clear from an early stage that SCTI was a useful and successful project and a national variation of the concept was launched as Cleantech Inn Sweden.
